Hi Anita,
sorry to hear about your nephew. When children understand that it is possible to bring help into their nightmares, transformation is often fast. My book The Art of Transforming Nightmares offers simple dreamwork practices that can be used to help both adults and kids.
Try suggesting that the next time he is frightened, he will recognise that he is dreaming, and suggest that he will then be able to react with power, either to summon help, or to escape, or to empower himself in any other way.
I don’t know of specific workshops for children. I sometimes offer private sessions to children and their parents.
I wish him peaceful dreams.
Clare

And would I like to find out where such are available for children?

My nephew is 8 years old and has terribly bad PTSD, with nightmares often-times.

Any advice will be much appreciated, as nothing so far helps.

Highly lucid since childhood. Just happened upon this thread. That’s fascinating. Simple power of suggestion via cartoon induced a lucid bonding?

Hi Pricilla, did I answer this yet? I am catching up after time away. I fully agree that the publisher’s pricing for that book is crazy. Such a pity! Please look at The Art of Transforming Nightmares which is priced much more reasonably and has all the practices you and your child need. I would start with the Egg of Light for a feeling of safety and protection. Wishing you and your child well. Good dreams to you.

Hi Pricilla,

I am with you 100% on the crazy pricing of that book. Unfortunately the publisher won’t change it, which is why I chose not to publish any future works with them.

However, please check out The Art of Transforming Nightmares, which has so many useful tips for working with nightmares, many of which will work great for children too.The price is also much cheaper.

I wish you and your child beautiful dreams!

Clare

And there was another similar one for $30.
Sleep help for children is becoming a luxury. This is very disheartening as a mother who’s child suffers nightmares and cannot afford a $50 book.

That’s really great, Ashleigh! Kids are remarkable, they pick things up so quickly and don’t have any of the hang-ups and preconceptions many adults have such as “that sounds impossible/hard”. They just go for it! Their openness makes lucid dreaming easy for them, and can make a big difference in how happy their dreamlife is.
