Hi Paul, Lucid Writing is a waking trance state where you focus on a dream and enter an imaginal world, then write without stopping to think. The method is described in detail along with how to enter the trance, in all of my books. If you’re new to lucid dreaming, go for The Art of Lucid Dreaming.
I wish you luck and wonderful flights of the imagination in your waking lucid dreams!

Now you’ve really got my attention. Remembering dreams isn’t easy for me, the vibes are there, just not any words that fit them. I want to write my second book ‘corona borealis and beyond’ but am struggling with the plot. I could really use some advice as to to how to get into that state while awake. Does it involve meditation?

Hi John, yes, lucid dreaming can definitely help. I wrote two lucid dream-inspired novels, Breathing in Colour and Dreamrunner, and used to get ideas for character, plot, and imagery from my lucid dreams. I’ve written about this in Llewellyn’s Complete Book of Lucid Dreaming, and on http://www.creativeluciddreaming.com

I have my general story plot but my characters still seem hazy and I feel like I can get to know them better if I were to achieve lucid dreaming.

Hi Deseri, it is possible to use sleep paralysis as a platform for lucid dreaming. Try to relax deeply in the experience, know that you cannot be harmed and that after the experience, you will wake safely in your bed. Release all fear and then picture a beautiful scene in your mind, something that inspires you and makes you feel joyful and safe. Imagine moving into this scene, and stay completely focused on doing so. You should find yourself entering a wonderful lucid dream.
In my books I explain this whole process in depth. Good luck and I hope you manage to feel safe in sleep paralysis. It can lead to experiences of great beauty.
